I don't want to buy a whole bunch of stock, just a couple shares and get a certificate. My mother is a Packers fan, and this would make a great gift.

I checked the website and you can't buy new shares or buy shares from existing shareholders...it's not publicly traded on any exchange. The stock is more of a donation to the team than a true investment as stock can only be sold back to the organization (at a fraction of the original cost) and not to 3rd parties. The latest issue of shares was in 1997....I would guess the only opportunity to buy shares would be if and when they issue new shares. Be aware that your shares can't appreciate in value but your mom could participate in shareholder meeting and have the enjoyment of knowing she is a part owner of her favorite team. Keep checking the website from time to time for news on future stock issuances.

The Packer stock is not traded on the market because the team did not do a public offering. Its ownership certificates sold by the team carry very few of the rights that other public companies have. The shares were first offered at $200 per. Don't know what the latest price is.
Contact the team.
