How do you get rid of the fried chicken look?

I would love to wear lip gloss more often but it so much reminds me of somebody eating fried chicken and then not wiping their mouth. So there's obviously either something I'm doing wrong or a better brand than I know about because other women love lip gloss. Ideas please. How do you get rid of the fried chicken look?

I know exactly what you mean, and actually approached my friend, a makeup artist, about this. His suggestion is to use a creamy lipstick in a shade similar to your gloss, apply it with a lipbrush on your lips, blot, then apply the lipgloss only on the lower lips, keeping the top lip creamy-textured. I have actually tried this, and it has a great, come-hither effect in the evenings.

That is a funny description. Anyway there are different levels of shine in lipsglosses. You may prefer a semi-glossy with a little color perhaps.

You should check out Sephora's websit, I think they rate the glosses by shine. Try something called a balm, and also a trick is that you can use lip gloss over a color just applied to the center of the bottom lip.

Brand - use a good brand from a beauty store - like Mac or Benefit.
Try using a moisture therapy gloss at night so you lips are well moisturized or you will get the dry look.

well i think chapstick is great, or a lipstick colored pretty close to your lip color. sometimes i like to put a really light coat of lip gloss on, so it doesnt give you the fried chicken effect : )
otherwise, i like the ones with sparkles, cause of course nobody eats sparkly fried chicken!

i dont think it looks like you ate fried chicken...if you really feel awkward in it, though, then try a more matte lip gloss.
