For the same reason that a professor in college would be fired for sleeping with an adult student.

Teachers have a position of trust, and can't be having "equal" relationships with their students. It undermines everything the student may do.

If she sleeps with the prof and EARNS an A, people will think she boinked for it.

If she turns down the prof and EARNS an F, people will think she got the F for turning him down.

It's just a bad scene all around.

Yes. The student might not be a minor, but the teacher is in a position of authority and such position could be used to construe coercion/force on the part of the teacher. And the teacher *would* be fired for it. Some college campuses also have rules against professor/student relationships. In such case, depending on the school, the professor may or may not be fired.

Yes, whether at the collegiate level or the high school level. It is viewed as the teacher being in the position of power and the student as the submissive, even if the student is 18 years old the law looks at it that way.

If the student is 18 or older then he is legally allowed to have sex. But if the student is STILL a student to the teacher (like school is still in session) then yes it probley is illegal to have sex with the teacher. But once the school term is over and the student is 18+, I see nothing wrong with it.
