There are only two basic types of reception.

The signals may be received either via a cable or via an antenna.

Antenna reception can be subdivided into terrestrial reception or satellite reception. The latter uses a microwave antenna usually called a "dish."

Analogue is not a transmission/reception mode, it's a method of modulation (the way that programme material is impressed upon the carrier.) It can be transmitted by terrestrial or satellite stations.

dMB0658 is mostly correct. analog is the way a carrier signal is modulated like he said, but there is also Digital which is another way to attach data, info to a signal. analog is usually terestrial and digital can either be terestrial or via a satelite signal. Digital signals have better clearity than analog.
