Barbaro was more than a race horse. People across the nation and beyond rooted for his recovery after his tragic fall. We, as Americans, love to see people--in this case, a horse--rise above hardships and attempt to gain back their previous vigor through hard effort and the support of a compassionate community. If "the story of the day" had not been about an injured, prized race horse, it could have easily been about a child that fell down a well or miners trapped for days in a collapsed mine shaft. It's in this time of national strain that we need that common thread that binds us together as a people.

Your answer's in your question. It's the media, who's sole concern is what sells for the most bucks, and if you run a story too long, it stops selling as much, so you prioritize your stuff so you can sell more. It stinks, to put it extremely politely, but, it's America's "main-line" media. Although, I'm surprised they slow down on crying aloud over American deaths over there. That's a perfect anti-war propaganda mechanism that they used extensively during the Vietnam war as well, and it matches there political agenda, but, the bottom line is, what sells. To hell with decency and respectability. God Bless you.

The Mosque difficulty has little or no to do with "freedom". the overpowering majority of people brazenly state that the proponents have the liberty and the Constitutional appropriate to construct the Mosque. I have no concern with the Mosque close to floor 0. I do have a concern with the proponents erecting a critically greater development shape on the positioning. whether or no longer they intend to or no longer, plainly to many (which includes myself) to be a flaunting gesture fairly than a healing one as they declare. besides, the call "Cordoba" develop into poorly chosen (in my opinion) because of the fact it represents a Moslem "victory" over Christendom in Spain. returned, it provides the "visual charm" of flaunting fairly than healing. particular, based on the 1st Ammendment, they unquestionably have the suited to construct the mosque on inner maximum factors. although, please bear in mind that this modification provides others the suited and freedom to strongly merchandise. possibly there's a center floor, although. go away the time-honored development shape in tact. possibly an considerable face-elevate is so as yet go away the exterior shape truly as is. advance the interior in any way they desire. in this guy's opinion, this might nicely be a thank you to have the Mosque open yet in a non-unfavourable, particularly "healing" way. i think of that is basically a rely of inquiring for some sympathy, sensitivity and archives to many, tremendously to those destructive souls who lost relatives on 9-11. the final workout of Freedom on occasion is restraint.

Write a letter to your editor asking them. And FYI, horses are important, too. Barbaro was a big human-interst sotry this year and a lot of people were following his "recovery," whereas a lot of people are, sadly, sick of hearing about the Iraq mistake.

I share your thoughts, but have you forgotten? It's about money.

The horse was good enough to win a championship, earning millions of dollars.

I am sure that every fallen soldier gets his or her name printed on their local newspapers.

From your question, you'd think the war was back in section D with the classifieds.
Relax...you'll get to hear more about soldiers dying...don't worry...the liberal media hasn't slacked off...you'll see....they'll be back to counting them off soon.

I guess because people already KNOW tons of soldiers are dying, and they are probably tired of hearing it . I know in my town, if a soldier dies FROM OUR TOWN it will either be on tv or the paper
