I was at first thinking of the FBI, but then I saw the paycheck. I do not think that I could live off that amount of money. Tha CIA crossed my mind. Being so secretive, I imagined how anyone would get into such an orginization. Does anyone know what a CIA field agent would get paid and how they are hired? Also, does anyone know the qualifications?
Thanks!

According to the CIA careers web page, they hire people in 5 main job categories:

Scientists, Engineers & Technology
National Clandestine Service
Language Positions
Analytical Positions
Support Services

Each category has lots of job descriptions, with their pay scale and educational requirements.

There's also the clandestine service program which is called "Field-based Clandestine Opportunities". The people who collect and recruit foreign intelligence are called "Core Collectors" and there are "Operation Officers" and Managers. Here's the "Operation Officer" info:

Pay: $50,839 to $70,558

Minimum requirements: A bachelor's degree and an excellent academic record, with a strong interest in international affairs and solid interpersonal and communications skills.

Foreign travel, foreign language proficiency, prior residency abroad, military experience, a background in Central Eurasian, East Asian and Middle Eastern languages, and degrees and experience in international economics and business, as well as in the physical sciences, are preferred. The 35-year maximum age requirement could be waived on a case-by-case basis.

To get hired you have to go to the cia careers web page, click on the title of the position you're interested in, and click on the "Submit Resume" button:

They have lots of student and college co-op programs, so it's a good idea to check out now what you can study and prepare for.

Good luck!
