Do tiger barbs need an air pump of are they ok with just a Whisper Filter? Also what kind of fish do they get along with?

Just a whisper would be fine for them, like most all fish. Tiger barbs are notorious fin nippers and should be kept in a group of 6 or so. They will do fine with most typical community fish that are not too much smaller or too much larger than they are. I would however avoid fishes with very long fins as these would be targets for the tiger barbs. Most fish with very long fins are also rather slow swimmers and wouldn't be able to avoid the quick tiger barbs. So rule out fancy guppies, long finned mollies and platys and of course bettas. Any other fish with large finnage like that should also be avoided.

They should be fine with the filter, however when I had a tiger barb, he ate one of my fish and attacked the others. Be careful and good luck!

They need an air pump. I had 10 of them when I was a kid and I remember them dying off before I had an air pump.

don`t know tank size etc. to many veriables there go to pet shop if they aere up to date wiil have what you need for info
