If Marcus goes from 8.25 inches to 11.25 inches, and 5.5 inches to X inches, you can set up a proportion(this is because the sides are always in the same proportion, not skewed or stretched at all). so take the original measurements and divide them by one another. 8.25 / 5.5 = 1.5 This means that the length is always one and a half times longer than the width. So now that you know that the new picture has a 11.25 long side, so divide that by 1.5 to get the new width. 11.25/ 1.5 = 7.5

Use porportions:

8.25=11.25 SO 5.5=x

By putting them into fraction form, you can figure the answer out by cross-multiplying.
