When i completetly demolished my radiator by hittin a tall median i replaced if for under 200 dollars it was really easy. I bought a new 1 through auto zone and everything matched the stock mounting holes and everything i got it done in under a hour by doing it myself it was really easy just bolt on and attach the hoses and add coolant dude it is so easy you will have twins when u realized u almost paid 600 for a job so minor i know about cars but im not a mechanic by any strech but dude it like connect the dots it sooooo simple u wont even belive how easy it is by the way it was a Ford Mustang and Fords r known for being hard to work on for noobs especially.

You're getting screwed. A rad shouldn't be more than $200 or so for a brand new one, and less than 2 hours to put it in.
Repairing it could involve as little as using some steel epoxy putty - which is $7 at the hardware store.
Go see another mechanic.
I'd say $400 absolute maximum to get this done by a mechanic - that's for a brand new rad installed. And that would still be on the pricey side.

Call a parts store and price a new radiator. The rest of the cost quoted would be labor. The plastic tank radiators can't be fixed, only replaced.

To fix it yeah thats resonable, but getting a new one is like 190.00 220.00 tops it's cheaper to buy a new one and have someone who knows how to put one in and have him do it for like a 6 pack or something. It's pretty easy...

plus labor $120 (give or take.)
