Not at all. That's what I am using right now. Remember, standard CRT monitors are not measured exactly from the edges of the screens. The measurements actually go a little bit "on the plastic." So a 14.1" LCD (which does go all the way to the edges) is just a bit smaller than a 17" CRT.

Also, with the laptop, you'll probably have it a bit closer the the regular monitor anyway, so it doesn't need to be as big.

That depends on what types of programs you plan to use, the resolution setting you keep, and your personal eyesight requirements. Some folks will be able to get along fine with a 14.1 inch laptop screen, while others will need larger. If you are just web browsing and doing minor things like watching movies on the screen, it wont be too bad. If you need to plaster 4 spreadsheets on your system, and constantly read technical publications, you may want to consider a larger screen... again, depending upon your eyesight. Consider going ahead and investing in a laptop with a 15.4 screen, which is actually becoming the staple or normal size, while 14.1 is swiftly becoming outdated and found on fewer machines. Good luck

First, depend a LCD resolution or screen size, normally 14.1' size maximum support up to 1280 x 800 res., for Ultra sharp will support up to 1440 x 900 res. Greater mean more clearer icon display, and got advantge for long time used.
Second, it depend what kind of work you using this laptop. If for only using for browsing internet, watch picture or video, reading mail or document, it should be suitable. But if you using it on professonal working , like MS Excel, power point, Editing video graphic, picture, designing purpose, it may not suitable or uncomfortable.
Be honest, 15.4' might more better in professonal work, but 14.1' are more lighter and better appearence.
Hope this will help on you & good luck!

Hi there! the 14." screen is an average size but if you prefer something bigger get a 15" or 17". The drarback of getting a bigger screen is that your laptop will be heavier and cost a little more. I suggest try them all out first. Good luck and hope I help.

Depends on what you're going to use your computer for...... 14.1 is a perfect size for college kids or people that travel. Not too big - not too small.

The 15." is a better size but heavier and more to lug around.

The 17" and larger is usually a good size if you're going to use your computer as a desktop and don't plan on travelling with it.

No, not really. I have a slightly smaller one and I'm fine. But it depends on the person. I never had eye problems when using a computer. If computer monitors are hard on your eyes, then a very small one will probably be even worse.

haha...its not the monitor of the laptop size u gotta worry about its the size of the font that u set on ur computer. if u have any version of windows (exp. 98,XP,ME,etc.) u can change the size of the font by right clicking on ur desktop and choosing properties...then u go to appearance and make the boxes bigger. u can also go to settings and make the resolution less but i dont recommened that...use it as a last resort

it can be depending on the video size you have selected. 800X600 is the recomended size. the larger size you select for your video, the smaller everything will be but you get more on the screen.
