I had tons of fish when I was young but then we moved out of the province so we gave them to neighbors and people we knew. I also had a cat and a dog at the same time. I suggest no one really tries that unless both are trained and have good chemistry. I had to get rid of the dog and the cat because my parents made me. I cried forever because the people who wanted them looked like they were going to hurt them and I was also young too so it doesn't help. Right now, I have a pure breed golden retriever who is 5 years old and I've had her since she was a young puppy and would never leave her or give her up to anyone. If I were to get another pet it would be another dog.
I had fish because there so small and they swim around. There are so many you can have at once unlike dogs or cats. Unless you are like a cat lady. I had a cat because my cousin gave it to me because theirs had babies. It was too adorable to get rid of and we just had to take it. Then we had a dog with the cat. I can't remember how we got that dog.
Like I said right now I just love the one dog I have and might possibly get another so they could be more company than just humans.

I have 2 dogs; a Pom named Butters and a Jack Russel named Harley. 3 cats named Chaos, Gizmo and Creampuff. 1 beta fish named Zeus and a horse named Classanova. I picked my horse because when I went to see him for the first time, I knew there was an instant connection. No other horses after that compared. My dogs came from abusive or neglecting homes and my cats were all strays that found me. My fish, well he was just pretty....a real shiny turquoise color.

I have 2 dogs, a cat, and a hermit crab. Currently waiting for a sugar glider to come of age to bring him home as well.
Squeakers- Chihuahua. Wanted her for some unknown reason, became really good friends and would die for each other. Best pet I've ever had and probably ever will have.
Tidbit- Miniature rat terrior. Love him to death as well even if he is an annoying little pup at the moment. I waited for a long time since getting him, and haven't regretted it.
You know, instead of going through all of this I can sum it up with one sentence. "I Love Animals"

2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds, a red ear slider turtle, and a lot of fish. One dog was rescued from a shelter..one bird was a rescue..one cat adopted us and the other was abandoned at 3 weeks old and was a bottle baby, the turtle was a rescue too..when she was only the size of a 50 cent piece, and now she is huge. LOL! The others were just chosen because it was "right" I am a sucker for animals! I had to PROMISE my hubby NO MORE! :-(

I have 4 cats,1 rabbit, 1 guinea pig and 2 mice.
I choose the cats because I like cats and they were going to get put on the street. I got the rabbit for my birthday. The guinea pig I adopted. My brothers and my dad choose the mice.

I guess your question really would be... Is my heart big enough to love one more??? The answer, of course, would be yes.
3 cats...
Midnight: My "shelter angel". Picked her because she had been in the shelter the longest (3 months).
Per'la: Stray. Petted her out in front of the club I was gigging at, and she was still out front when I was done for the night. The following me to my car and jumping in sealed the deal.
Xena: Stray. Came to me begging for help and VERY pregnant. She lost her babies in a spring ice storm before I could coax her into the house.

Well, I have a rat, 2 dogs, a tortise, and 2 lizards. I personally love rats because they are so fun to play with, and they are really smart. If you want a pet to be active and playfull with you I would get a dog. but if you want a pet to just be in the house while you are gone, I would get a cat.

I have a German Shepherd dog, I got him because I know those kinds of dogs are real smart and they listen well if you train them or not, and they're very sweet and passionate. I like cats also but I always worry about whether or not they will scratch me, lol, yeah, I know dogs will bite probably but if you're mean to them then yes they will. good luck. hope this helps.
