my daughter is five and a half months old and for the last three months...my cervix feels really really low...like about a index finger deep inside of me..i can feel it and it feels really hard on the outside and really soft/mushy on the inside....is this normal??i have an appointment on feb 6 for a cyst so i plan on having him check it out then but i was just wondering if this is one of the things that just happens to your body after you give birth....

o this is not normal at all ,, actually it happend to my aunt and she had to have it put back in to where it belonged.. under anthathetia(spelling) .. after that she was fine.. good luck to you ..........try and get to doctors quicker then the 6th.. infection is dangerous

This is fairly common, especially for women who have had a few babies, or a big baby, or twins.
The length of an index finger isn't so bad, really. Some women will have the cervix descend all the way down to the vaginal opening -- a "prolapse."
I wouldn't call it "normal" though, because it can cause some problems, such as sexual discomfort, or leakage of urine when you laugh or cough.
The first thing to do is Kegel exercises. This was probably taught to you during pregnancy. Google "kegels" for a refresher course.
Mention it at your next appointment. The doctor can examine you and determine whether it is in the normal range or not.

doesnt sound normal but than again i'm not a doctor. Get to that appointment, the doctor is the best person to help you. GOOD LUCK!!
