Firstly I want to congratulate you for being the first person, at least to me, to clearly see the negative impact humans have on Earth. I am a staff writer for my high school's newspaper and i tend to write about topics that have to do with human interaction with the environment. However, i have come to find that many of these articles are not published because "they are not interesting" to the student body. My personal opinion is that people either just don't care or prefer to let other people deal with the problem. I do believe that if everyone worried less about themselves and their shallow problems and focused on helping both each other and the environment, this place would be a much better one to live in. However, it is completly understandable that people with trivial problems tend to focus on them rather than on the enviornment's problems.
Just this weekend, I watched a show called The Ocean's Deadliest which counted down the most dangerous marine animals. The title of the most dangerous and deadly animal was given to the human...and i completely agree!

Just a few people.
We are people, human beings
We are not a hive where each member cares about the behalf of the whole colony.
So, somebody´s problems are always more importants than anyone else´s problems
Besides, some people suffer because they don´t have enough food or water but they may have a lot of love. Other people suffer because they are very sick or very lonely and they may be very rich and always have food that they can never enjoy. Some others because someone hurt them.
You can never say that the one that is hungry is suffering more than the one who is alone or than the one who is worried about how much damage we have made to this world. They are just suffering in differents ways and all of them are valid and each suffering would be more important for each person.
So, many people try to do something and you have some people worried because there are so many abandoned children, some others really concerned because there are not enough food or others like you really worried because we are destroying our home world.
But you can´t expect that everybody is worried for the same things. It would be really bad, because only that particular problem would be resolved and not the rest of them.
You can do something about your concern and involve more people and tell them how important it is, but that´s it, it´s up to them to care about something else, besides what is inside them.

How lucky you are to have such insignificant problems. Many of the problems people face on a daily basis are trivial, I agree with that. But tell me, as a mother whose child has a terminal disease that my problems are trivial (and watch my reaction). Tell my cousin, whose 18 year old son was murdered 4 months ago (and they finally caught his murderer yesterday) that her problems are trivial. Tell my sister, who was raped at 14, that her problems are trivial. Those are just a few of the many examples that show your lack of compassion for others.
You might want to put a little more thought into your next question.
But again... how blessed you truly are that you have no real problems.

Well, we have to work to survive. Even if we went back to being unindustrialized, humans will have an impact on the earth.
The gossip is a way for people to relieve the pressure from the knowlegde that things are not so great in their lives.
However, I do understand your question and agree.

Until the whole entire planet jumps on board to the save humanity and the Earth cause, nothing will change. Humans are in a very primative state of mind and will always be concerned with the small meaningless worries of their day, and yes, one day it might kill us all.

That's not our biggest problem. That's not even on the bottom of my list of problems. If it's your biggest problem, consider yourself a very lucky person.
