SHIFT BUSHINGS USUALLY THEY ARE ABOVE THE TRANS/DIFF IN BACK TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. COST ABOUT $20. WHO SAY PORSCHE'S AREN'T AFFORDABLE.

Nope, the good doctor of Brazilian descent is right...this is a classic shift linkage bushings (grommets) problem, common on the 944. A friend of mine has owned several over the years and knows this problem only all too well.
Having said that, the 944 is a fabulous ride! (I still prefer the 928 with stick shift, though...)
