Is it an okay area? just anything you know about it and whether or not its a safe place?

Not bad, but stick with friends.....no place in D.C. is truly safe.

The club is cool. Two stories; you better plan on standing, nice atmosphere--you always feel you're close to the band. The area is not bad but it's not the best either. A lot of other areas in the center of DC are safer; be smart (for example, don't park five blocks away to save $10) and you shouldn't have any problem, especially since most everyone leaves the club at around the same time.
Also, it's not near Arlington, Virginia. The previous answer may be thinking of another club, such as The Birchmere in Alexandria, which is also cool, but it has more country and folk acts.

it's a really nice club-two stories, second one is for sitting, standing on the lower one. it's roomy, no arena, but the acoustics are really good. there's a bar, and you can get stuff to eat. it's not in the tourist part of DC, (in fact, it's probably in arlington) but you aren't going to get shanked or anything. the shows I've seen there are always really good.
