Cartilage is semi-bone--it'll never close up. However, the skin around the hole will. It is pretty thin in that area and easy to poke through the skin. However, you need to make sure that your jewelery is clean and that you start sea salt soaks as soon as you put it in. You don't want it to get infected after the initial healing phase! :)

Probably. I had a 3 hole felix and had to take it out for 4 hours to do pt and the holes closed up. I had it for about 4-5 months. So, I wouldn't do it if I were you.

I think if you had it in for 4 years it won't close up. If you have it out when you' ve had that piercing for 4 years it won't close up for about 2 years. If you didn't you can have it out for 3 months.

You should never leave your piercing open for more than a couple of hours.
