Most visitors stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada Família Cathedral, and Parc Güell in the north. Or maybe visit the 98,000 seater Nou Camp stadium the home of Barcelona football club. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelona.htm for more details

What a fun city! I hope you enjoy art, music, architecture and scenic beauty because you will find a ton there.

We looked at a lot of hotels in Barcelona and concluded the best way to go was to rent an apartment. I highly recommend this company because their facilities were clean, comfortable, spacious, well-located to walk and take public transport all around the city, and reasonably priced.

Have a blast! And don't be taken in by the ripoff restaurants at Las Ramblas. Oh - and see a flamenco show at Pueblo. Fun!
