I think most people probably do, however most probably wouldn't admit. I reckon it just a case of thinking out loud, a little like reading out loud, I am not ashamed to admit I do. Will say tho that I realised how sad I was when, not really knowing how to join in chat on chat page of a web site we had joined I was sad enough to talk to myself in writing . 'Hi, Debs how are you today?' and then cos no-one was replying to my attempts to join conversations I answered myself and said 'Very well thank you, glad to know you're about' Is this sad or what?, chatting to myself via instant message. Made me chuckle to myself tho and at least I did not feel ignored.

I think you will find that everyone talks to themselves not just you. At the end of the day talking to yourself is just thinking out loud and it can sometimes help you to hear the thoughts.

As others have said it only becomes a problem when you start arguing with yourself!

Its not just you because I do.Full conversations.I've always done it.I even talk in the street and feel a bit daft when I realise people are listening to me.I often find myself singing and shut up quick 'cause I know it sounds terrible. When I'm doing housework I give a talk to an imaginary audience about my cleaning methods------------Oh dear I think I've gone barmy!

Everyone talks to themselves. It only becomes a problem when you start answering yourself and then get into an argument. If you do, always apologise to yourself before you go to bed. Oh, and accept the apology gracefully.

I do talk to my self when i am stressed. I tend to speak like advising to another person and i listen to my own voice imagining that was some body who is advising me.
once i couldn't solve a problem of my course work and i started shouting to my self"what are you doing you idiot " unfortunately i didn't realize my father was there doing some thing .... He thought that i was talking to him and he went furious that day.

actually talking aloud to some one (or self) is a good way to get your thoughts organized, and have you ever bothered to think that when you think of something, then an arguement to it, or simply try to work something out in your head is basically the samething as talking to yourself except that you don't do it aloud?

Yes. Who knows what your talking about better than yourself. You do not have to explain anything.
