What things do I need to make a costume?

I have to make a costume that represents someone famous,or a common person from the Renaissance time period.How do I make a costume?What kinds of things did they wear?

Here, I went to the Simplicity website. They have awesome patterns. The link to it is below. Click the costume you want, and then click envelope back. It will tell you all the items you need to complete a wonderful costume. If you cannot sew, find someone who can. People who can sew, love to do so and will do it for little to no money.

I will also add the beginning of the McCalls Costume Patterns as well, you will have to look through these, and it could be just a little bit time consuming.

You need clothing to represent that person.
Some jewlery, possibly a wig, make up.
Try to look at some old pictures on the internet and get a idea of how to make a costume.
