I am going to take what I believe will be the contradictory position . Teen Wolf is an underappreciated exploration of the transition from youth into adulthood. The film also benefits from strong performances by Fox and Susan Ursitti .
The ZZ Top influenced wolf costume was an inspired special effect . More impressive even than Back to the Futures Delorean time machine .

I Loved Teen Wolf, too. And I agree that it is under appreciated and that it does have a social commentary aspect to it.
But my favorite will always remain the Back to the Future Trillogy. I love those movies! Perhaps b/c its a Trilogy. Perhaps b/c it has the nerdy sci-fi aspect. Perhaps b/c there's a flying Delorian? ;)
Who knows, but it definately is my favorite.

You've got to be kidding. While I believe the idea behind Teen Wolf was as you state the acting and writing were so superior on Back to the future you can't compare them.

Back To The Future is a fun, classic film that remains entertaining years and years after its release. Think along the lines of Ferris Bueler's Day Off. Great stuff.
