I don't know about everyone, but I do. I live alone and I enjoy talking to myself while I'm cleaning. It helps me get a clear train of thoughts.

What's bad is that I get anxious whenever I'm around someone for a long time (a couple of days), because I can't talk comfortably to myself.

Usually when I remember something in the past that I didn't do very well I will curse myself. Or if I didn't handle a situation the way I liked again I will put myself down saying you stupid ---
Or if someone has done me down I will talk aloud cursing them when in the bathroom or wherever the thought hits me. Resentments are the worst-they have to be dealt with. Days later I have gone to the person who has wronged me and faced them about it. If I had done it at the time I wouldn't have had several sleepless nights.

Dont worry...you're not losing your mind and your not the only one. Most people talk to themselves especially very lonely people. It's a thought that is spoken. Talking to yourself is like asking your concious for guidance.

Depends how much you talk to yourself. Is it small mutterings like, Oh dam where are my car keys or I must remember to send a birthday card to who ever.I think they call it thinking out loud.

Heck, I've been talking to myself all of my life and I'm pushing 60. I look at it this way: it's the only way to have an intelligent conversation. lol

So no, it's not just you.

I do.... :) you are not the only one...
That's the only way to make yourself wittier and smarter. Asking yourself and making dialogs with your inner voice is emotionally healthy. Those who never talk to themselves are those who are plain, dry and senseless. They are practically robots.
