Well, don't be mean about it, but any kind of rejection can kill a friendship. So just be honest and remember that you might lose a friendship because of it, but hey, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Don't be unhappy just because you want to spare someone's feelings--it might hurt the other person, but just say what you don't want and maybe the other person will find happiness elsewhere. You might be holding that person back, y'know.

Just say it. Tell the truth and deal with the consequences.

What?
Re-phrase the question. I think you left out the important part...like - what are you trying to tell them?
Is it a guy thing or a girl friend thing? Do you wanna ditch them? Or do you still want to be friends, but you found better/more popular friends to hang out with that don't want this person around cuz maybe they don't fit in. And maybe you wanna keep this person on the side so you'll still have this friend if the new friends decide to ditch YOU?

I hope I'm way off, cuz if this is the case, I'd have to say you suck.

Please let me be wrong!!!
