This is an easy one if you sit and think about it a bit....think of what is "valuable" to your parents, and how it is important to them...Here are some examples;

Your health. It costs money to eat right, have a place to sleep, see a doctor, etc...right ? Now imagine without money (without a job) how that will affect you psychologically, emotionally, and physically (especially if you had kids of your own).

Your home. Same as above. A clean, safe, warm place to live is important to ALL of your psychological, emotional, and physical needs.

Your pride. Imagine your son and daughter looking at you (their dad) and you not being able to buy them a birthday present, Christmas present, etc, because you don't have a job, and therefore no money...don't you think you'd fell bad ? Isn't that an "effect" on your psychological, emotional, and even physical health ?

Your responsibility. We all get jobs for different reasons. But, one thing we have in common is getting a job to help be a "responsibile citizen". Afterall, how do you think we pay our police, firefighters, military, etc ? Taxes are how we do that. If you don't have a job, you are not contributing to society, you are hurting it.

These are just a few "causes" and "effects". Just sit and think of what you need to survive, be happy, be healthy, and be responsibile (causes). Then think of what would happen without those things (effects). Write 'em down, turn 'em in, and you're good !

Good luck !

I'm sure it depends largely on your personality, but most folks chalk it up to experience, and job market fluctuations. keep looking, work wherever and it's OK to change your mind too. I didn't get a job immediately after college, but I did within a year, after two years in the field and another 5-6 in a related field I found I really didn't like it at all. I became alternative certified and to teach, and "who knew", it's what I should have been doing all along!
Keep your chin up!

You will get bored because you have no goals or focus, probably get depressed and upset, and lastly gain weight because of lack of motivation.
