Aahh, yes. Curtis Mayfield. What a genius he was. I loved his music, especially "People Get Ready", with the Impressions.
How sad he had to go through all he did in his final years - and yet what an inspiration he was with his positive attitude.
As Aretha said,
"Curtis Mayfield is to soul music what Bach was to the classics and Gershwin and Irving Berlin were to pop music."

Did some underrated collaborations with Jimmy Hendrix. (now I go to bed with "get on the scene, your folks might etc." going through me head, thanks,lol)
