they are really sharp crampy feelings shooting to my back...it feels like it is where my ovaries are, real low. It is very random, sometimes when i get up or i could be wakling or when i am sitting it will be a dull pain. It only lasts for a few seconds when it happens. What is going on? Are these contractions? Of course i will call my dr but i am just looking for some input. Thanks!!!

It sounds like round ligament pain. I used to get those all the time when I was pregnant...more with each pregnancy, and especially if I sneezed.

Here is a cut and paste for you to read.:

Round Ligament Pain
Round ligament pain is pain in the lower abdomen and groin area, which is usually sharp and lasts a few seconds to a couple of minutes; usually caused by quick movement changes, coughing or sneezing. If pain does not resolve with rest, call the office.

What is round ligament pain?
Round ligament pain generally refers to a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting dull ache that pregnant women commonly feel in the lower abdomen or groin, starting in the second trimester.

You may feel round ligament pain as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting out of bed or out of a chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. You may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day — when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.

The round ligaments surround your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes can occasionally cause pain on one or both sides of your abdomen.

You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your hips. The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit.

I had this too when I was pregnant and boy did it drive me crazy. My dr said it was just growing pains mixed in with some sciatica. Contractions will feel like the Braxton Hicks you have been having but a bit stronger and longer. And if its true labor the contractions will hurt like a mother fu-----, imagine the worst pain you have ever felt...thats a labor contraction!

You just might have a pinched nerve in your bad. It will hurt all over. Or you might have pulled a muscle. But check with a doc.

these pains are braxton hicks... people say they are not supposed to be painful but mine were. dont worry if it happens every 6 minutes for 2 hours then you have to go to your hospital. if they are happening when you get up its because you get up to fast for your body. since you're almost due take it easy and avoid doing a lot.

Relax and don't over exert yourself. Also get your bladder checked, it could be a combination of a bladder infection.
