I did and I'm still that person occasionally. I hope you are too.
Or have you lost it. How do we get back to it?

I still do! Sometimes I don't even use a flashlight, I just close my eyes and use my mind.

Hell yes. I still do it too. More often during the summer. I've always been fascinated with astronomy and hoped that one day the light from my relatively tiny flashlight would reach the star (as if it would ever be seen when it has the sun to compete with). I'll still do it, no matter how ridiculous it is. Maybe it's just a sense of connecting somehow with the light that travelled anywhere between 4 and 16,308 years to get here (Alpha Centuri & Hipparcos 5926).

I never had a flashlight. I just laid on my back on the ground and looked at the stars...thinking....dreaming. I love the night sky, and I still don't have a flashlight!

I firmly believe that there is life somewhere out there. The universe is way too big for God to have only created one planet with intelligent life. But when you start getting morse code response to your flashlight let me know so I can come watch.

As a kid, I did that. As a now "educated" and "life experienced" adult, the child like wonder has diminished in me greatly and I don't believe it is retrievable, sadly

I did. I was scared because I thought I would blind a pilot. I use to try to see Pluto with my light. It never worked. LOL! I still do it with my kids.
