never talk about what happened in the previous episodes? its like somethings never happened....

Sitcoms like the formula of having an opening, middle and closing all in one little time slot. Think of each episode as one in a series of short stories recurring characters. Even they will do the occasional "call back" to a previous episode.

Not all sitcoms are like that. On Seinfeld's last episode, they brought back a ton of characters from several different seasons. It was hilarious.

because they have different things happen in every episode but sometimes the characters mention things that happen in past episodes
