first put a neutral colour over your eyes (or when you put on your base make u[ let it gently run over your lids). then get some dark grey eyeshadow and take a small amount on your finger or an applicator brush and brush onto your eyelid concentrating on the area near your lashes and moving up towards socket so that it is paler there otherwise it will be too dark all over and make your lids heavy. then take another colour like a dark purple or a slightly lighter grey or teal. blend it into the eyeshadow you put on before except for the area nearest your lashes. as i said be careful to make sure that it is not equally dark all over the lid right to the back because your eyes will be small and sunken. then get some black eyeliner and very lightly run under your bottom lashes as near to eye as possible. rub it until it is much lighter but still visible. then take a little of whichever colour eyeshadow you used besides the basic dark grey and take a tiny amount and using your finger run it along the eyeliner that you have just applied. blend well. there should be no harsh lines visible. it should all look soft and powdery and not too heavy, but noticeable.
i also take my green (it is a subtle mossy green colour) eyeliner and apply it carefully to the part of the lid actaully underneath the top lashes nearest the eyeball. it opens the eye up.
then use an eyelash curler to curl your lashes, maybe use a eyelash comb to seperate your lashes and then apply mascara. first coat - you should apply it with a zigzag motion to seperate lashes and cover them easily. then add a second coat, applying right from the base of the lashes. don't put it on to the bottom lashes heavily. just tip the wand off you bottom lashes with a zig zag pattern and that is plenty because otherwise they become spidery.
hope that makes sense.

line your eyes with a black shadow. get your brush wet and dip it in the shadow and then smudge it as close to your lash line as you can on the top and bottom. then take a typical sponge applicator with dark grey (silver also looks nice and is pretty modern) shadow and mush it right above your liner.
smudging the shadow with your fingers helps with the look too.
make sure you take it to your crease, but not above. i recommend a lighter shade for under the browbone and right in the corner of your eye. it really helps to brighten the eye.
finish it off with at least 2 coats of mascara!
