Nonverbal Communication is our primary form of communication. Body language is a part of that. Nonverbal communication encompasses how you move your body in relation to your thoughts and what you speak, how you say what you say, what you choose to say and choose to hide, gestures you use when you speak, and facial expressions.
To really see body language, watch a recording of a drama or news program without the sound. Do not try to read the speaker's lips, just guess how they are feeling and whether they are talking about a happy thing or a sad thing. Then watch the recording again with the sound on and see how you did. Watch it a third time and take notes on what they are doing with their face, their hands, their voice, their shoulders and the rest of their bodies. Are they facing the person with whom they are speaking? Do they make eye contact? Are they standing or sitting? Why? Do they gesture to make their point? Do they touch the person with whom they are speaking in order to keep their attention or make their point stronger?
After that, it is time to head to the mall. Try communicating a message to people using different amounts and levels of body language. Telling a stranger that there is a really good sale down the way with no movement or excitement. Then telling someone else the same thing while moving about as though excited. Then try politely touching someone's arm to get their attention and telling them. See how they respond. Doubtful that they will rush to see the sale but see if they ask questions about it and find out where it is or if they simply brush you off.
Just some fun experiments that can pass for homework if you present it properly.

Body language is what your body says about you, like whether you are intersested in a conversation ,by noticing someone's body language you can tell if he or she is comfortable and attentive or not..it's so nice to learn more about it..did you kno that crossing your arms during conversation means you're defensive or guarded ?
