As the above Answerer said, The Sims 1 expansion packs need to be installed in a certain order (see below). The only option is to uninstall and reinstall in the correct order. You can try to save a copy of your save data (anywhere but in the program folder for The Sims 1)--this way you can save your already made sims.

Here's the order:

* The Sims/The Sims Deluxe/Etc.
* Living Large
* House Party
* Hot Date
* Vacation
* Unleashed
* Superstar
* Makin' Magic

I hate to tell you this, but the House Party expansion pack was released before Hot Date. Since The Sims (1) only runs using the latest installed expansion pack, you're stuck with Hot Date.

If you're adding House Party to The Sims, you'll just have to reinstall Hot Date afterwards (there's an option in the CD's autoplay, under the "HELP" section) to make it playable.

If you're planning to DOWNGRADE to House Party (unless your computer doesn't have enough power, I don't know why you would want to downgrade), you'll have to UNINSTALL The Sims & then reinstall everything up to House Party, which would be in the following order:

1) The Sims
2) Living Large
3) House Party <-- STOPPING HERE
4) Hot Date

I know it sucks, but it's the only option you have if you want to get rid of Hot Date.

This is a problem with Sims 1 Exspansions. They ahve to be loaded onto the com puter in a certain order. If i remmeber it right you have to load house party first, then load ontop of that all other expansions. If you have already loaded all the other expansions, sorry, but you have to uninstall and load house party first, then hot date.

just sell the ones you have and buy the complete collection, its the whole shabang with some extra features, and there is less hassle ... plus it is only 40 dollars, whereas if you buy each of the expansions you end up paying, 10 dollars for each and 20 for the original so that's like 90 dollars.... you save time and money... :D
