Zoology is a specific TYPE of Biology. Biology is simply the study of "life" or "living things". Zoology is a specific dicipline of Biology that studies non-human animals.

There are MANY other specific "ologys" under Biology...like Entomology (study of bugs), Planktology (study of small organisms in the oceans), and Anthropology (the study of humans).

Zoology can even be broken down too...Ichthyology is the specific discipline of Zoology that studies fish, Primatology is the study of monkeys, gorillas, and apes, and Herpetology which studies reptiles and amphibians. All of these are SPECIFIC disciplines under Zoology, whcih is a SPECIFIC discipliine under Biology !

Hope this helps, good luck.
