What is the history behind the surname "Huynh" and please also locate a site for me to look up what the name is written like in Chinese.

I know that the surname "Huynh" is written the same way as chinese character Huang, meaning yellow color. See here:

Not sure about the surname "Quynh"; couldn't find it from here:

if you type that using the T9 option on the Nokia phones then scroll through the options it will spell IZUMI which is a japanese name. you muts have got it from there
