I've been looking into buying belly bands so I can continue to wear my clothes because maternity clothes are still too big. And I'm getting tired of wearing sweats all the time! Just wondering if anyone has worn them and can tell me if they actually do hold up your pants while they are unbuttoned and unzipped? Do they look as good on someone as they do in the pictures you see online? (smooth and such over your clothes) Also, where is the best place to get them for cheap? Thanks for your help.

I had a friend who cut off the bottom of a tight stretchy t-shirt and use it as a band like that. It worked well for her.

Yes I have 3 bella bands by ingrindandisabel.com
Never had them with my first but for my second I just loved them! I didn't show until about 6-7 months and never really truely grew out of my pants, except at the waist, so I didn't or wouldn't go out and buy new clothes when the pants all around fit just not zipped comfy enough for me.
So I bought two, black and white, (remember you buy them at your pre pregnancy weight, they've got s m, l. Which they list how to buy for your size)
I loved them! They can either be pulled up over your belly, or folded over for more control at your waist for your pants. They really do hold them up!
I"m on my third child right now and bought a white lace one, and have two more coming in a week or two from Amazon.com. It looks like you have a layer top on, or are wearing another under neath, very comfy, I even wore them after delivery for comfort and even to feel some support around my stomach. Go ahead and get one, I havn't heard many complaints and if it was one it was because they bought it too small or too big. Again check with their size chart at the site ingridandisabel.com but buy at amazon, they are about $25, but it's alot better than trying to buy new pants all together.
Have fun with it!

My 6-month-pregnant friend just uses a hair rubber band to loop from the button of her jeans through the button hole and back, and it works really well. You'd never know unless she wears a shirt that is really short. I don't know about belly bands, though. Sorry. Just wanted to offer a cheap alternative.

the rubber band through the button loop thing worked best for me. i bought a belly band from motherhood maternity and it worked ok. it looks fine, it's just a bit uncomfortable. why don't you just buy maternity clothes? old navy has some cute, affordable clothes. good luck!

there are two different types of belly bands, there are the type you wear over your tummy - so that your pants are sitting below you belly and then there is the belly belt, which connects to your jeans/pants whatever and you can adjust them as you go.
Both options are okay, The Belly Band is suppost to support you ever growing tummy as well, But I would just buy a pair of strech pants with the fold over waist, they are much more comfortable.

I have no experience with belly bands specifically, but have you ever had a piece of clothing look as good on you as it does in the ad?
