My OB gave me an ultrasound at 8 weeks and said the baby looked great. All my blood work came back normal and she said she expects me to carry to full term without any trouble.

I am now 11 weeks and I still worry about miscarrying because the first trimester is risky. I have no bleeding or cramping and haven't really "enjoyed" my pregnancy because I didn't want to get my hopes up.

Should I stop worrying about miscarrying now that I am 11 weeks?

FYI: I have only told our families and about 4 close friends who swore not to tell. I am too afraid to announce it yet!

You should not worry yourself. However, if you have not told people in the case that you miscarry, you may want to wait till after the 16th week. If that's not a problem, you should not spend the whole time worrying if the doc has given you the all-clear. Anything could happen at any point , but you should assume that you are fine and it will go OK because most do.

Don't stress about miscarriage, your chances decrease alot but it can still happen up to 20 weeks. I just miscarried in may of last year and I am currently 26 weeks and my doctor told me not to think of this as a repeat because there are different factors in each pregnancy.

Well for one the doctor should have told you that worrying and stress is bad for you too. But I wouldn't worry about it as long as your doing good. Also need to be extra carefull on what you can a nd cna not do. Have hubby do all the lifting for now and also don't worry or have too much stress. SO have a nice day and put your feet up and watch TV till hubby gets home and hvae him give you a foot massage.

Your chances go down when you get to 18 wks, but you will probably never stop worrying until you have that little one in your arms.
Just do your best to relax, don't do anything out of the ordinary or over do any activities.

There is NO gaurantee you will not miscarry but your chances do go down the farther along you get.

Best of luck

There is no guarantee that you won't miscarry, but as long as you are taking good care of yourself and getting good prenatal care then you are doing all you can to prevent one. Relax and try to enjoy this time of your life.

You can miscarry up to 20 weeks, but this is rare if everything is going well.
