Yes they can.But this tank has to be a good-sized tank [about 10 gallon or more] since crabbies need alot of climbing/crawling space and has to have both water and sand/crushed coral/fine gravel [whichever,as long as it's a substrate in which the crabbies can burrow in it].Remember that hermit crabs are scavengers, which is good, cuz that means they can eat about anything [apple slices, tostito chips, cuttle bone, fish flakes, turtle pellets!!].Also, make sure it's humid!A humidifier or simply a couple of wet sponges shall do the trick.

No, they cant. The humidity a hermie requires is too high for a turtle of MOST species available at pet stores. The humidity could cause respiratory infections in turtles and limit its actions. Also, hermies scavenge at night. This means while Turt is sleeping, Hermie is going to be A) tootling around in his own biz or B) making a snack out of Turt, as mentioned earlier.

Its a bad idea to mix anything that doesn't come from the same place in the wild. You can mix zebras and antelope, but would it make sense to mix a zebra and a penguin? No. No it wouldn't.

Please take the time to buy or build just one more tank for the other species. It would save a lot of heartache and turmoil.

NO!
my son learned this the hard way,he put in a small turtle *red eared slider* with a large hermit crab,by morning the crab had slowly eaten half the turtles head and one of its back legs, the turtle was beyond saving.

No. They need different habitats (which is why you never see them together in the wild) and turtles like to eat at crabs, and crabs like to eat at turtles- natural enemies!

No if its awater turtle hermies will drown and a land one might eat it, selonela will poison it, andhermies need salt water that might hurt the turtle.

Combining two different species is usually not a good idea. One of your animals could transfer a disease to the other one or, as mentioned, injure him. You do not want them competing for food either (it could happen...)
