You should do scales on a daily basis. Prior to doing your scales, find an object that is extremely heavy like a piano, a refirg a washer. Stand right next to the object so that you can put your abdomen on it. Try to move the object with just your abdomen. Hold it for 10 seconds and then rest for 20 seconds. Do this 5 times to start and work your way up to 20. Your abs will get stronger in an explosive way which will allow you strengthen your abs but also to strengthen the air that you exhale as you are singing. It is also very helpful for your dynamics control. Good luck to you.

For good breath support, try breathing in, then hiss for anywhere from 16 to 24 counts (keep it an interval of four) remember to keep the air stream equal through out, and time so you run out of air on the last count. As your voice gets stronger add counts.
