Just keep standing up for yourself. You may need to tell him that in order for him to continue staying with you, he will not be allowed to put women down. Some people do this so much it is like a very bad habit, and he may not even realize he does it as often as he does, maybe come up with something to point out each time he does it. Like calling "foul" or a wrong answer buzzer noise or something, don't hold a grudge and give it a try. Good luck to you, you are doing the right thing for your little girl and for yourself too!

How old is your father in law , if he'e really elderly then tell your
daughter that he means well but isn't quite well in the head and
doesn't know what hes saying so to just not pay attention to him.
If hes a middle aged jack*ss then tell him to knock it off or hes
out. Ask him how he'd like it elsewhere?
No matter what , it is your home and if he would like to continue to
stay with your family , then he has to compromise and get along
with you and the rest of the family. Tell him straight out , no more
undermining you and no more putting down people , you don't want to hear that crap anymore.

I will tell you what I did, I had my bf's jerk of a dad living in our house. He was old but he could just send me w/his behavior. He would pray like the devil was at the door at supper but GD everything else all day.
Anyway, I just told the ex bf that either he found the guy a place to live or I was going to get him wet and put him out in the breeze. So, the bf found suitable care and that was the best day of my life...well, until I left said bf.
If your in law can't move out then get a whistle and blow it really loud every time he makes a remark about females...he will stop.

Obviously you cannot kick him out or he would have been gone by now. So how are you at jousting? I would fence with him by denying what he says in a funny way and putting it back on him. If you can do this with a smile and keep a calm voice it will drive him crazy.

I'd ask him to leave....it is your house after all and you make the rules now. I'd tell him that you want very much for him to be a part of his grandaughters life but only if he stops making demeaning comments about women.
Good Luck

I agree. It's your home and he's living under your roof. Time to lay down the law. Good Luck. :)

I'd tell him to follow the rules of your house or get out. Your nice enough to let him stay there, so he should respect your wishes.

You've got to understand that old habits die hard...So every time he starts to say something give him "the look", if he doesn't shut-up say something....after awhile, if this continues ask him to leave....

It's your home! You shouldn't have to put up with verbal harassment from him or anyone in your own home!
If he continues to disrespect you, demand your husband deal with it or you will!
