I'm just wondering how common it is to go in for your first ultrasound and measure like you’re further along? Then the doctor had to give you a new due date? Has this happened to you? I have my first ultrasound next week and at my first doctors appointment I told him that my last period before I knew I was pregnant was very short. So I could be 10 weeks or 14 weeks? Will they be able to tell exactly for along I really am with an ultrasound?

Yes they will. They will measure the baby and give you an accurate due date from the measurements. Also.. I have never been farther along than I thought I was but I have been told I was not as far along as I thought. But when it came down to it... I had an 8 pounder at 38 weeks. (I thought I was 40 weeks???!) Good luck.

With my first I had a period at the end of December and missed in Janaury, so the first week in Feb I took a test and was pregnant. So I taught I was a month ago or less. Had a ultrasound and found out I was close to two months along. I through the pregnancy it proved true. By first calculations my due date (based on LMP) was October 4, 2005, after ultrasound September 16, 2005. I had my son on September 8th, 2005.
