Open an umbrella indoors? If you do, did you ever stop to think-

"When did the "bad luck" start? The day umbrellas were invented?"

Seem silly now?

Walking under ladders is another silly one that the same question can be applied to:

'When did bad luck ladders come about? The day ladders were invented?" :)

Superstitions are make believe, like mini religions. Start your own if you want, they still invent religions. Juust remember its all a joke.

I dont get that one for another reason... you step outside, and you get rained on, then you open the umbrella...
or your about to get into a building and between outside and inside WHERE are you gonna close the umbrella..?
surely not every building has a covered front area!
GOD forbid we get WET!

I may be sweet but im not made of sugar!

How do you have BAD luck?

I don't know if it's bad luck - but it does seem a) pointless unless the roof is REALLY leaky b) a good way to accidentally break things (which is where I think the whole thing comes from - yes that's experience!)

superstition is a funny thing. i like to avoid ladders and walking under them. when i use one though, i walk under them without thinking that way. strange is true.
