Unless there is a limit on the number of marriage licenses permitted in a year, then there is no valid argument against same sex marriage.

Defense of marriage? From the same idiots who have the divorce rates? (Or so says the Barna Group, a fundamentalist christian group who did a study on divorce; the more conservative and christian the people were, the more often they were divorced. Atheists are divorced the least.)

Children of gay parents grow up feeling threatened? Take a wild guess where all the threats and abuse come from? It's not mom and mom or dad and dad, it comes from the hateful bigots in the community, so the same-sex marriage isn't the cause of the problem. In fact, all the gay-hating "arguments" against marriage are a result of religious hate and not any problems of the couple themselves.

And the biggest and most hateful argument used against gays, pedophilia? Check with the American psychological association.

Pedophilia is almost exclusively the pervert - oops, purview - of conservative and moralizing males who can't deal with functioning adult relationships, eg. they get divorced a lot. And lesbians are probably the _least_ likely to be pedophiles; 99% of the perverts are male.

"germainerupert" obviously can't read...either that, or she only reads the bile - oops, bible. Only the ignorant believe that there are no gay animals.

In fact, the male/female split may be the abberation in nature and NOT the norm. The educated know that less evolved animals (below reptiles) are almost entirely bisexual, and even reptiles and amphibians change gender during gestation in the egg just by the ambient temperature.

In fact, ALL human ovum start out FEMALE while in the womb; the females are the norm, and males are the abberation. That's right, I, as a man, was a female during the first two months after impregnation, it took the "Y" chromosomes to turn me into a male. And that's true of all men.

Yes. I don't get all of this crap about "civil unions" vs. marriage. If it's the same thing then why not just call it marriage? How does gay couples getting married threaten your heterosexual marriage in the slightest? As a a straight, married female, I don't feel like my marriage would be less valid if gay people were allowed to legally marry.

Yes. They have every right to get married as a heterosexual couple has. I think the reason they won't legalize gay marriage is because there would be a decline in marriages and they don't won't to see there friends get a divorced to become a gay married couple.

You bet your ***... I think it should have been legalized a long time ago. If we don't get over this issue we can't get to the other "important" issues that this country faces each day. So what if a guy likes another guy and a girl likes another girl or both. What we do in our bedrooms shouldn't neglect us of human rightsor how this country is run!!!And by the way how do you think Bush can make GLBT marriage illegal if it concerns close to home- his daughter is gay. "How can you take your own daughter's rights away?!?!"

I think I smell a HUGE stink bomb go off with this majorly pathetic question.

The entire point of a marrage is to have a family.

You can pump someone without marrage! This is nothing more than looking for validation.

And to all you people who talk about WHY CAN"T THEY JUST GET MARRIED AND BE HAPPY.

The law will be forced to be skewed in order to handle this entire mess, "So why not get special rights by a choice made?" Why don't 2 roomates get married to get free healthcare off the other or a million other ways to abuse the system.

Why can't the GAY man be left alone with the boy scouts? He might be a good guy, but why put the wolf in the hen house? Common sense people.

I say let them marry, but they also must have the ID as GAY, and that gene will end either way, no family, it is self terminating.

It is just a sign of things are to easy. The history of rome shows this.

Yes, denying the right of marriage to people only because they're gay is discrimination.

No, marriage is for heterosexual couples. Gays have civil unions which gives them the same privileges & protections.
