OK, here's my question: Why are some people winning the lottery and others are not?

There are, in fact, 2 theories to explain this.

One is that the people who constantly win the lottery are psychic and they use their powers to win. They use special methods to make the task easier.

Another is that lottery is rigged, meaning that winning numbers are selected based on what "guesses" are inputted by the players, not by random chance, and designed to give out the least possible money. That does NOT mean making everybody lose; it means OCCASIONALLY allowing people to win, just to keep them playing, and selecting a few "lucky individuals" who they constantly give the prize to, just to keep the public hopeful. They are giving out the least amount of money possible. In this case, it does not matter if the player is psychic.

I DO know that lottery money does NOT go to general education; it goes to the GOVERNMENT...

So, my question: which of the 2 theories is correct??

Generally speaking, your odds of winning the lottery are 1 in 15 million. Statistically speaking your have a better chance of winning if you let the system pick the numbers for you, because it will use the same algorithm to select the winning numbers.

34.6 cents of every dollar spent on the California Lottery goes towards education. I have both friends and family that are teachers, and I have been shopping with them for classroom materials that are purchased with Lotto money.

Both of those theories are in tinfoil hat territory.

The numbers are randomly generated, sometimes even with the ping pong balls in the hopper thing. The entire lottery is based on most people not knowing anything about probability. The usual odds of winning the powerball are about 1 in 80 million. Good luck.

My vote is number two. It seems that it is always an old person who wins (limiting the years of pay out perhaps, so they take the lump sum, pay more back to the government in taxes), or a whole group of people, make the masses happy and they will continue to play, the winners are all thrown into a higher tax bracket, so Mr Sam makes out two-fold. I have yet to see a person go from rags to riches just doesn't happen. It is a sca, that is why I don't play. maybe i will when i'm 85, I may have a chance then

Id say the latter, but either way its seems a long shot. Such conspiracy theories are far fetched at best and just plain rediculous at worst. The effort your talking about would be a waste of time for the indiviuals involved.

You didn't win beacuse you didn't win. It's as simple as that, so take off your tin foil hat and waste more money, you won't increase your odds with or without you hat on.
