well like a month ago there was one in my room, a couple weeks later in the kitchen and yesterday- again in the kitchen.

it looks like a spider but maybe not as many legs or more legs- i didn't have much time (it was running faster than anything.) and when it was killed it kinda crunched like it had a shell. i know its not a beetle or like that because it looked like a spider! help!

anyone know what it is?????

It may possibly be a house centipede, they are quite common in homes almost across the entire world. They are fast moving true centipedes, so they have a multitude of legs and know how to use them.
Here is an image of one:

They are quite harmless, and actually feed on other insects, so they may actually be beneficial to your kitchen, although looking at them is never a treat.

If it is not a house centipede, the only other thing that really comes to mind is a cockroach...........I know that is kind of scary to hear, but it is an unfortunate truth for many people. here is an image of the most common cockroach in homes:

You didn't give a very good description but I'll try. If it was a little furry and greyish it might have been a wolf spider. From 1-3 inches in diameter. They are actually good for your house because they eat cockroaches and other unwanted insects, including each other. They aren't poisonous either.
The crunch was probably chitin. It makes up cockroaches exoskeletons.
So I hope that helped a little. That's the only thing i can think of.

Well, now it is a dead thing. Your description wasn't exactly scientific, was it?

Not as many legs as a spider - or maybe more...hmmmmm
