My sims 2 pets CD doesn't work. It has worked before and I have played with it before. Now all of a sudden it can't read the disc anymore, or at least in doesn't recognize it. It doesn't look like there are very many scratches on (maybe a few little ones) and it was working fine before this (it didnt slowly start having problems). Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

I just tried cleaning it with windex and it didn't help

Even though it is a few scratches it could make a big difference. You should get a cd cleaner or replace the cd. Also if you downoaded any new programs to your computer you may not have any more memory space.

You could either purchase a CD repair kit (I got one from Walmart for under $20.00) which will fix your scratches and clean your disc, or you just have to buy a new disc.

try cleaning it with windex. it might just be dirty. most cd rom drives can read slightly damaged discs.
spray it a couple times and wipe from the center to the edge, NOT AROUND the circumference.

i tihnk iss jus that the disk itself is so scratched n stuff u don't see .. so propably one of the scratches went through the main laser streams .. so the cd rom can't read it anymore ..

AAARGH, DONT USE WINDEX!!!!!
you could just about throw it away! Chemicals will damage the disc.
Use a soft cloth ONLY.
