First, don't do a marathon. Pheidippides dropped dead after ignoring his body's exhaustion and running those 26 miles, so it really doesn't celebrate life.

You could, perhaps, get sponsors and secure a day at a local high school. Teams sign up, create their own teams and t-shirts, then participate in a variety of events - obstacle course, basketball, volleyball, Battle of the Bras fashion show, poety reading - the sky's the limit. Teams register for a set number of events, so you can make it a little more competitive for some people...

The marketing and planning shouldn't be too hard, and you can be creative for sure. But best wishes in whatever you decide. :)

(oh wait...you're DOING a marathon...misread that...then you should probably dress up like a Persian, and keep yelling, "I'm not dead yet!")

Since breast cancer can be found in men (kinda rare but it happens) Maybe you can get men to run in the marathon wearing a self decorated bra and the women wearing self decorated boxers. Of course all the participants are in running gear and they wear the bras and boxers overtop of them. The man and women who have the best decorated undies get an award. It might draw some media attention to the event so you can articulate they importance of breast cancer screening and so forth.

I agree with Finuk. Running a marathon for a charity is a big thing, and very thoughtful. It is great to have the rememberance of those that have experienced the distressing disease as it inspires you and gives you an incentive to do such a great thing, in this case a Marathon.
Good luck with it all, and all the best for the future.

use a sensible sports bra as a base and then glue or sew on a pair of gloves over each boob so it looks like youve been grabbed from behind..make these gloves as garish as you can and if you have lost people or know people who have had cancer write their name somewhere on the bra ..good luck and wel done for having a go at helping. peace and love to you.

Try craft foam - they come in different types of decorations and are pretty much weightless, plus, the attention won't be on your body so much with all the foamy stuff.
