You can still join a sport or other extra curricular activities at the school that you would have been attending in your area. Start with an after school art class, something easy. Or if your feeling more ambitious, join volleyball, softball, soccer, cheerleading whatever! It's a great way to meet new people minus all the classes. Then you would more then likely feel more comfortable attending school dances and stuff like that. What about joining a youth group through a church? Lots of kids go to youth. Good luck!

Many public schools have programs for homeschooled kids where they can come to school just for a little while for an activity or to learn more about a subject. Have your parent(s) contact the school and ask what is available.
Then, you can meet other homeschooled kids in a structured environment where you don't have to worry about what to say or do.

Just relax. What is the worst that could happen? I used to be really shy so I got a customer service job that forced me to talk to people. Maybe you should try that. Work at the local mall or something. You can meet lots of people there. Good luck!

OK I do not know how old you are, but if you are old enough, I would go get a job. That will get you out and meeting people in your community. You can volunteer at the animal shelters, lots of people go there. The library need volunteers too and all kinds of kids hang out there. The most important thing is to know that other kids your age fear new relationships too.,so take a chance and dive in, who is it gonna hurt?

Try to convince your parents to let you start a hobby which will involve joining a club of some sort, but maybe nothing too out there at first cos you might get even shyer if you try too much in one go. Then take it from there, the people you might in the club might become good friends to go and do other stuff with.

What kind of things you like to do.. Are you involved in any actives.. You should start with going places you like for example if your into basketball, swimming, arts.. try looking into your local rec center... and when you do find yourself around others try and take a deep breath and relax and when you feel comfortable you will be able to come out of your shell...
