Try Limewire it's great!! although U shouldn't share between you and other people over limewire (not legal) but you can use it legally. Also After you Download a song and burn it delete it (stops virouses)
Theres also Ares 1.9, and Napster.

You can try going to http://downloads-music.com and type in your selected song title in the search bar. Then it has the title of the song and such. Right click on the title of the song. Now, plug your iPod into the computer. Then, on the right click on the title, click 'save target as'. Then save it into a file or your iPod. If you save it to a file, then go to that file and load it onto your iPod.
It's just easier to load it directly to your iPod, though. Oh, and DO NOT try limewire. It is illegal, and it has many viruses when you try to download it. I downloaded it and it broke my computer. It send a whole lot of viruses into your computer while it loads. Also, the government can track you down. Do NOT try Limewire, I repeat. Just use the link above. Or you could go to Google, and type in 'iPod free music downloads'. It should give you a good website in one of the pages. Just make sure it doesn't have any viruses.

Best free website- no software needed except ITunes (but that's just to get it onto your ipod). Http://www.projectplaylist.com - Search songs/artists, then go to view the webpage or link or whatever. Then the view full file or download, whatever the link is on the bar at the top of the page. Then you just save it- and ta da! you're done. Free, legal, safe.

well once a week, iTunes does have a free song.. or try limewire. you CAN pay once a week, or just do it free like the millions of people today in america.
