Varied by region - generally peasants/serfs subsisted on grain products in Europe - breads made from whatever was common, from rye to wheat... some meat and cheese, mostly in the form of chicken or fish and 'dairy' products, milk and whatever cheese was produce able from the animals that gave milk (goats, cows, etc.).
Wealthier members of society ate chicken, beef, deer, quail - whatever was available, as well as cheese and bread.
Beverage was largely beer, but also wine... clean water was a rarity so the 'alcoholic' beverages were favored for simple health reasons...

An interesting fact to note is that printed recipe and cookbooks were introduced during this period, meaning that more recipes could be duplicated and documented. Also, exotic spices and foreign ingredients were introduced with the advances and popularity in travel and foreign colonization.

Well some of what we eat today was around back then. They were big eaters back then and lots of ale and wine.
