How any given person will respond to "being pushed too far" varies depending on the individual. Some lash out, others turn inward. Being pushed too far is always bad.

Too much stress can be a factor in disease. Even a person who does not react or become physically or verbally abusive suffers as a result of stress.

Negative stress is sometimes called 'distress.' There is also something called "eustress" -- positive stress that's actually good -- it's also called 'curative stress' or simply 'good stress.' Controlled stress is what fuels competition, and competition can lead to success. There may be such a thing as winning the stress game.

So when you are hurt or stressed, find the ways to stoke the fires of your ambition. That person who hurt you doesn't matter much, and revenge is pointless -- treating you the way he or she did shows weakness, and foolishness too. Instead of lashing out, remind yourself that you're in this stress game to win. Use what you feel to motivate you to move towards a better life for yourself. The best revenge is living well. Find ways to step out and get beyond negative situations, to laugh, and to take up the pen and write the next, better chapter of your life.

What happens can be many things...low-self esteem, depression, becoming recluse...or either they may snap, and do something harmful to themselves or the one that pushed them too far, or even some inocent person. I got pushed too far by my ex-husband of 17 years now, and he beat me and beat me, till I started fighting back, then one night, after we were divorced...he broke in, which was a norm, I would wake up with him standing over me, I can't begin to tell you how many phones got broke from me running dialing 911, thank good they can find you even when it rings once....but, he hit me once too hard, I was to my limit, broke my glasses which I'm blind as a bat, and grabbed the first thing I saw that looked sharp, and started stabbing at him...thank goodness for me, it was a felt tip pen...then my babies at the time walked in on it, the police came, and he ran....I had and still to this day have a restraining order on him...but, I didn't care at that one split moment that I would go to jail...I just wanted it to end, and he hit me just once too often...and thanks to him and all the beatings, I'm going completely deaf...so....you have to be careful...and it's better not to try and push people because they might lash out, or even turn around and kill themselves

Ask her if she could have the perfect boyfriend what would they do,say, be like, then do it. If that does not work then you need to make yourself the best possible person you can be and continue associating with her but seem busy but interested. If you are unavailable half the time with good reason you will seem more interesting and mysterious to her. If you get good grades and go to college and get a good paying job you will peak her interest more so then the dead beats out there and if your 17-25 this will work but if your 13-17 you need to try a different strategy. If you are 13-17 you need to make sure you look good, smell good and only hang around people she likes or would like. I would tell her that if she cheats on you again you are gone and will not put up with anymore because there are plenty of fish in the sea so if she wants to be with you then she needs to act like it if not your gone. She will have that fear in her which will draw her closer to you because women like a guy that knows what he wants and is a little dangerous and mysterious at that age. If she does cheat on you again you need to stick to your guns and only offer one more chance and everything should be fine but if she does it again after that she is not for you and you deserve better. Your life is not over if it does not work. Time will keep going. You will get over it.

Why just human beings. What about the poor animals? most people are just in illusion about what is going on with them. They are being slaughtered by innumerable amounts due to you supporting that by eating their flesh. They suffer so much for your sense gratification. Look how far people have become unconscious of what they are doing when they eat animal flesh. They don't think at all they just gorge unconsciously. Read Bhagavad Gita as is is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada and understand the laws of nature (karma) action and reaction and just see how far people think they are pushing that.

Obviously they either simply do not care or feel any humanity or they enjoy inflicting pain upon others to satisfy their ego or perversion. As to what happens when one is pushed to far...depends upon the individual, it can be a verbal Kiss My ***...or it can get ugly and violence occur.....the verbal of course is the best path, but GET IT OUT and in no uncertain terms.

Unfortuneately, these people wouldn't see it. But, If they were to think about it and if the roles were reversed..............???????....... would there be any hope of change? What I now do is ignore them no matter what (regardless of situation), sadly, people can also be suicidal too either bumping into them, phone rings (call display helps),etc.

Too bad there's not enough compassion in this world....

Unless they are a saint, sooner or later they are going to fight back or lash out at their persecutor if the pushing continues. It may take a long time.

many things....depending on the person that is being pushed.

some may one day breakdown(mental),other may snap, and some may jump off a building and die.(i am not kidding).

others will unleash the attacks onto someone or something else(be it animal, object or another person)

as for me....mostly i forget it....but if i remember...i store it inside me...and if a robber happens to rob me or any of my friends....it will be directed at him/her. no rerouting.
