If we can star our questions we should be able to thumb ourselves up & down, shouldn't we?

I think we should be able to at least defend ourselves against the goofs that thumbs down every single answer- I can thumbs up everyone else just to balance it out, but not mine... What I really want to know though, is do you really lose points for thumbs down? That just doesn't seem right...

Ahh, who cares what other people think of your answer. Did you chuckle when you answered? Then you get a thumbs up every time.

i was thinkin that this morning. i swear. i wanted to thumbs down myself so bad... but it wasnt possible.
