My oldest daughter is doing a science project on the effects of sodium cyanide on bronze and other metal, she only needs a small amount to show the effect but I can not find this stuff anywhere. I have checked jewlers and craft stores to no avail.

This isn't a chemical you want around the house. It should only be used under supervision with someone who knows its properties. It is extremely dangerous and can kill in fairly small amounts.

If you want it, you could look at scientific supply houses such as Fisher Scientific. You might also ask the school's science teacher to procure a small amount for you.
